Summary

This program is the responsibility of the Porto Collective Transport Society (STCP), a municipal company that values a policy of integration and massification of public transport for people with reduced mobility. The company reached the goal of having an accessible network composed of 100% of vehicles with lowered floors and 66% with ramps.
STCP’s policy and practice focuses on promoting social inclusion and accessibility for all, offering available information to its customers with special needs, namely the senior population, which benefits from these type of measures.
All STCP buses also have audio-visual information, with destination warning, line number and next stop. Illuminated signs and electronic displays are also integrated into the buses’ operation. With this information system any citizen, especially those with vision and hearing impairments, can easily orientate themselves and travel safely without concern.
