Summary

The mobile medical clinic is a field clinic, furnished and equipped with large medical devices. It offers services to elderly people and disabled people, and those who face difficulty in moving. It moves among the houses of the elderly people in different areas of Emirate of Sharjah. The mobile clinic treats the simple cases and move the difficult cases to the hospitals for treatment. His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of Supreme council, Ruler of Sharjah, President of Sharjah University, has inaugurated the mobile medical clinic at Sharjah University on 26th April 2017.The health clinic counsels people on their health issues, and raises awareness through health education order to limit the health problems to which people may be exposed, allowing them to enjoy a healthier life.The Unit was developed by Sharjah University, in agreement with the Department of Social Services, to work with institutional steps that would contribute to achieving social and health development in the communities of the Emirate of Sharjah.

Receive better and faster treatment for cases that are difficult to move to the hospital or medical centers

Feedback:
The service is a way to improve medical services provided to citizens of the elderly people with disabilities in the cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah and to work on the early diagnosis of chronic diseases such as diabetes, lung and cancer. Through the advanced components contained in the mobile clinic of radiology devices ultrasound diagnostic devices and laboratory devices.

Expansion plans:
This practice is an expansion of the elderly Home Care Services, which has been active since 2003. Original services were available since 2003, with additional mobile physiotherapy services in 2015, followed by the Mobile Medical Clinic in 2017.

Looking back

Reflections:
The elderly Home Care Service been active since 2003 through small units that visit the elderly in their homes to provide social, health and psychological services. The services were then developed to provide physiotherapy, in 2015, the first mobile physiotherapy unit was launched. In 2017 the Mobile Medical Clinic launched to provide the best service for the elderly.

Challenges:
It was challenging to find a high quality mobile clinic manufacturer. Finally we identified a partner in Canada that met our needs for quality.
