Pocheon-si is implementing various policies to help older persons lead a healthy and energetic life. We support policies and services related to each domain of the age-friendly city including: transportation cost support projects for older persons to promote transportation convenience; welfare housing for older persons’ Pocheon Park golf course construction projects to expand infrastructure for sports for older persons; supporting older persons for a lively retirement life; and free vaccination projects for health promotion. Focusing on the older persons’ welfare team, all departments such as the Education Support Division, the Health Policy Division, and the Transportation Administration Division are continuously discovering and promoting policies for older persons.

Pocheon-si plans to form a monitoring group to collect opinions from citizens to create an age-friendly city. The monitoring group will consist of various age groups from people in their 20s to older persons. The formed monitoring group will divide teams to observe and track policies in each area and provide opinions and ideas to make Pocheon-si a more age-friendly city, such as finding necessary policies in everyday life. Through the activities of the monitoring group, we will improve policy sentiment in everyday life and secure the subjectivity of the policy parties.

In addition, Pocheon-si conducted focus group interviews (FGI) and surveys for older persons and other citizens to create an age-friendly city. Through the FGIs, living conditions, regional gaps, and age-friendly policy satisfaction in Pocheon-si were identified. In addition, a survey of older persons in Pocheon-si on the current environment of Pocheon-si and the status and needs of each domain of the age-friendly city was conducted to identify the age-friendly in Pocheon-si. Through FGI and survey results, Pocheon-si will create a more complete and age-friendly urban environment.
