The Department of E-Government in Sharjah launches the “Medication organizer app”

Within the strategic plan of the Sharjah Age-friendly Program, the Sharjah Age-friendly Office in the Social Services Department in Sharjah agreed with the E-Government Department in Sharjah to launch the medication regulator application for the elderly, and this service comes within the axis of communication and information. The application aims at digital empowerment of the elderly through Modern applications that facilitate their diaries. All local departments were addressed to present initiatives in the interest of the elderly, each according to his specialization, and a proposal to regulate medicine was submitted by the Sharjah e-Government Department.

“Medication organizer app” is an app for seniors to help remind them of appointments related to their health, protection and care as well as to organize the doses of the medications they take. In addition, the user was able to create his own medical file, which gives him quick access to health information and diagnoses the types of diseases he suffers from, such as allergies, blood type, emergency contact numbers, weight, height, and so on. The feature of knowing the nearest health centers, hospitals and pharmacies available on the organizer has also been added. We later added an alarm to remind them to drink water now and then.

In addition, the organizer serves as an alarm that helps the elderly to know the dates of his medications and the doses that he must take, and to know the emergency numbers approved by the Sharjah government, including the numbers of the Sharjah Municipality, the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority, the Civil Defense and the Sharjah Police, and the numbers of the Social Services Department and its departments and the concerned centers. them; Provided that the organizer is applied by entering data into the store application available on Android and iPhone mobile phones.

Where the e-Government Department organized a presentation for the elderly from the Asala Club of the Social Services Department, and they was surprised that many of them have a digital culture and are aware of using applications and programs, as well as having accounts on Snapchat and others, which facilitated their task.
