Yeoju-si is currently promoting policies that encourage older citizens’ job growth and social participation. In addition to these policies, Yeoju-si runs programs that are beneficial for older people, including those with leisure activities and health care services. The city also holds events that encourage developing respect towards older people. To improve accessibility for the older people of Yeoju-si, the enhancement of various facilities is also currently underway.

“Hope in Yeoju, a happy city” is the official slogan of Yeoju-si and it reflects being a self-sufficient city that is accommodating and welcoming for everyone. Our slogan is in line with the vision of WHO Global Network of Age-friendly Cities & Communities, which encourages the creation of an environment suitable for all residents including older people, by promoting and encouraging increased accessibility and offering opportunities for social participation and employment.

Yeoju-si is taking a step further as an Age-friendly city by being a member of WHO Global Network of Age-friendly Cities and Communities for the fourth time in Gyeonggi-do.

Yeoju-si seeks to share these efforts with other member cities & communities of the WHO Global Network and to collaborate on the creation of high quality age-friendly cities.
