With an elderly population representing about 39.17% of the total municipal population, Capitão Leônidas Marques, located in the State of Paraná, south of Brazil, is now above the national aging index, wich corresponds to 17.95% of the total populaton, due to this, it became more than a whimsy, but a necessity, that through the junction between public power and civil society there was the construction of a Project/Plan for structural improvement and social valorization of the elderly. We also know from several studies that this number tends to increase in the coming decades with the increase in the quality of life and decrease in the birth rate, which will lead to an increase in the elderly marquesiense population’s to about 45% of the total population. Taking this scenario into account, we did build an action plan that will last five years meeting the requests and proposals of our elderly and the axes by the WHO, having as a guiding principle the strengthening of networks for the protection and defense of the rights of the elderly provided for in the Elderly Statute in the creation of bonds between family, society and the State. Highlighting the areas of health, sports, social assistance and urban planning, in matters of improving physical conditioning, daily monitoring, social insertion and urban mobility. The Development Plan of Capitão Leônidas Marques’s Project Age-friendly Cities, it was then accomplished in an intersectoral way, addressing problems identified by quantitative and qualitative research, through dialogue with our elderly and based on their needs.
