The roads and transport authority in Sharjah (RTA) has announced that the elderly in the city of Sharjah will have priority that allows them to use public transportation easily and comfortably under the initiative “Priority seats for the elderly in public transportation”. This initiative is launched by RTA as part of an ongoing initiative to support the elderly as it supports Sharjah age-friendly program and its strategic plan.

RTA provides this service to the elderly in the Emirate of Sharjah Without any requirements or registration, only priority stickers on some seats next to the doors.

RTA has already started working on implementing the initiative since the beginning of this year, with a total of 568 seats in 71 buses.
