The city of Bom Sucesso do Sul is located in the southwest of the state of Paraná, and counts with a population of 3.293 individuals. The estimated percentage of older adults resident in this town is 14,4%, totaling 473 people, and from those 293 are at the age range between 60 and 69 years, corresponding to 8.9% of the population. The remaining 180 individuals are in the age range of 70 years or higher, equivalent to 5,5% of the population (IBGE, 2010). Brazil has the fifth largest older adults population in the world, with around 30 million people over the age of 60. Data from the Minitry of Health show that until 2030, the number of Brazilians older than 60 years will surpass the quantity of children younger than 14 years. The action plan on aging aims to consolidate the attention to older adults, promoting quality of life, especially to those who are in a situation of social vulnerability. Proposed actions will prioritize the older adults, depicting all services, programs and existing projects in the town of Bom Sucesso do Sul, explaining in details the actions developed by the different departments and expanding the actions through new proposals. Aging is a continuous process that requires special care, with that said, the action plan to the “Programa Cidade Amiga do Idoso” (Age friendly city), searches alternative ways to take care of the older population, articulating the socio-assistance network from the town of Bom Sucesso do Sul, together with other entities and partners. Such fact represents strengthen and innovation in public politics to offer to the older population of Bom Sucesso do Sul.
