Age-Friendly Forsyth: Community Report on Aging in Forsyth County, North Carolina

Age-Friendly Forsyth (AFF) is a community initiative that connects, informs, and engages aging adults and community partners to create a livable community through collaborative planning and action, with the vision that aging adults in Forsyth County are living their best lives. Focus areas of the initiative include:

  • Physical and Mental Health
  • Financial Health
  • Housing and Safety
  • Accessibility and Mobility
  • Support Network
  • Empowerment and Engagement

Currently AFF is in its second year of operation, with early activities including a comprehensive research phase where baseline data was collected across a variety of indicators within the six key focus areas of research of the initiative, followed by an intensive planning phase that included a variety of organizational partners such as healthcare, and other nonprofits, corporate, education, and philanthropic agencies, as well as community members. The Age-Friendly Forsyth Community Report serves as Forsyth County’s age-friendly assessment.
