Participation of physical activities:

The physical activity, the contact with the environment and the communication with other actors produce a joy effect and a support to physical and mental health. This is why recreation is the necessary stimulus that oxygenates the whole body. We do this through:

• Hikes
• Regional Games
• Zumba dance
• Rhythm and health
• Activities in Santa Rita with the group called ”Grupo Mejoramiento de Vida Floreciendo”.

The inclusion with the organizational team:

To feel useful is fundamental , it means that I can do things. This why we bring some spaces with local activities where older persons are part of the construction and development of the shows.

• Be part of the organization of the National Arts Festival (Festival Nacional de las Artes).
• Be part of the organization of the Special Olympics (Olimpiadas Especiales).

Workshops

To share with similar people and express with similar topics is fundamental for the emotional support. Share workshops and talks help us to express and have a calm and joyful life. To be happy it is fundamental to participate and laugh.

• English for the elderly.
• Workshops for the empowerment of older persons.

Programs

Agreements with institutions like CONAPAM (The National Council for Older Persons), we established the REDPAm of Orotina. They are the ones that develop projects that benefit older persons of the region.

• Delivery of subsidies through the agreement with CONAPAM
• Delivery of technical equipment like diapers
• Social work visits
• Home of older persons

Social Activities

Activities that bring together older persons to share and laugh about memorable stories is really important and satisfying.

• Support activities with the nursing home
• Party to celebrate the month of older persons
• Holiday celebrations for the low-income older persons

Local government is more accessible.

With the idea to be a more accessible place, we invested in infrastructure. We are talking about more accessible roads with ramps, railings and mechanisms that facilitate transit for all populations including old people.
