Under the patronage of his highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi ruler of Sharjah, Saif Al- Shamsi Sharjah Police Chief General has witnessed the launch of five new ambulances vehicles in collaboration with Social Service Department in Sharjah. The new ambulances are equipped with technical and advanced equipment’s with high   quality and safety standards identified by Sharjah police rescue department for the elderly and disabled groups. General Alshamsi has noted that the launch of five new ambulances is in line with Sharjah Age-friendly program initiatives. The main aim of these new and modern ambulances was to provide comprehensive and distinctive services to transfer the bedridden to the hospitals and other places if needed. Afaf Al- Marri,  Head of Social Service department noted that the initiative that is launched by Sharjah police as one of the strategic plan initiatives to provide high quality of life to the elderly in Sharjah as well as to   preserve the membership of Sharjah as an Age- friendly city in the  Global Network of the Age Friendly Cities.
