Work Place Mentoring Programme

Work Place Mentoring Programme

Summary

The Age Friendly Island Mentoring Programme is a scheme which focuses on supporting older people in gaining new experiences, skills and knowledge through the support of a work place mentor.

The delivery of a pilot programme in partnership with local charity Learning Links and employer Red Funnel (local transport/ferry company) was completed in December 2018. Feedback from the pilot was used to update the programmes processes plus plans to create an Employer Mentee Programme Toolkit.

The next step is to share the toolkit and best practise with the Employment Task & Finish Group in spring 2019 and sign up new employers to take part.
