Sharjah sports council activities

 

 

 

 

In order to achieve one of the strategic objectives for the follow-up of Sharjah’s joining of the Global Network for Age-friendly Cities. Sharjah Sports Council implemented in the first half of 2018, four different activities that serve the elderly
     1-   Marathon walking for seniors – 17/3/2018

The target is to spread the culture of caring for the elderly in society, especially in the sports field and to
activate the role of Sharjah Sports City institutions in the application of age-friendly city standards. The marathon attracted dozens of senior residents of the region, as well as a number of employees of government departments and agencies in Khorfakkan.

 2-      Water Polo for the Elderly – 20/6/2018

Dibba Al Hosn is organizing the water polo competition for the elderly in the club’s swimming pool under the theme “Sports Lifestyle” sponsored by the Sharjah Sports Council.  there were special participation of the East Coast and residents as part of the community initiatives initiated by Al Hasnawi Club and everyone enjoyed the event . The Organizing Committee announced the monitoring of a collection of souvenirs for all participants.

 3-       Futsal – 20/6/2018

Khor Fakkan Sports and Cultural Club Hall organized the futsal competition for the elderlyProvide them with Clothing and all requirements for the implementation of the game. The game lasted for more than one hour and at the end all participants were honored.

4-      Shooting Championship for the Elderly – 21/6/2018

 The Sharjah Sports Council in the Government of Sharjah concluded the Shooting Championship for the Elderly, which was hosted by the Shooting Club at Al Dhaid Club The tournament, was characterized by the wide participation of all members of the community of parents’ citizens and residents. At the end Salem bin Huaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al Dhaid Club Distributed prizes to the winners.
