Committed To Becoming More Age-Friendly
City of Long Beach United States of America
In collaboration with community members, the Department of Health & Human Services published a Strategic Plan for Older Adults in 2016. The plan lays out ways the City of Long Beach hopes to begin addressing the needs of the aging population in the city, around issues related to safety, transportation, housing, health, and quality of life. The City’s Senior Citizens Advisory Commission provides a venue for public input and advice for policymakers. We have a FUSE Fellow and one year of funding for an Office of Aging Coordinator, both centered on leveraging City resources for seniors.
