The “Senior in Opole” Center is located in the building of the Social Activation Center at Krakowska 32 Street. Due to the influx of refugees from Ukraine, the Municipal Refugee Aid Center was established on February 25 in the SAC building on the second floor by the decision of the City of Opole. From March 14, all rooms at the Senior Center were handed over to administrative services for refugees from Ukraine. In one place you can deal with matters related to: ZUS (Social Security Office), the Employment Office, benefits from the Municipal Family Assistance Center and benefits from the Municipal Benefits Center. Therefore, classes according to the fixed schedule, in which seniors participated, were moved to the building of the Civic Dialogue Center located at Damrota 1 Street, so that seniors could continue to benefit from the Senior Center offer. Seniors were actively involved in helping the refugees: senior women helped as volunteers in the children’s club, which was created as a place where parents can leave their child, so that they could take care of all necessary administrative matters. Senior women also supported Ukrainian-speaking volunteers who were involved in helping and providing information to refugees arriving in the city.
