19 Beneficiaries of Sharjah Social Services Perform Umrah

The Sharjah Social Services Department organized a trip to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to
perform Umrah for a group of its beneficiaries from various care institutions, including shelter
homes, the Elderly Care Home, the Social Care Home for Children, Al-Roshd Oasis, and the
Women Protection Center. The group was accompanied by a full team of supervisors, employees,
nurses, and organizers to ensure smooth management of the trip. The initiative aims to enable
beneficiaries to perform religious rituals in a spiritual atmosphere that promotes peace of mind
and psychological well-being, while reinforcing values of compassion and social solidarity and
affirming care for priority groups.
Khaled Al Abdouli, Director of Al-Roshd Oasis and Head of the Department’s External Trips
Committee, stated that the total number of participants reached 35 individuals, including 19
beneficiaries, with the remainder comprising employees, escorts, nursing assistants, a general
physician, the administrative team, and an imam.
Al Abdouli praised the significant support provided by the sponsoring entities for the Umrah trip,
emphasizing that such cooperation reflects the commitment of institutions in the Emirate of
Sharjah to their humanitarian and community roles. He also commended the Sharjah Civil
Aviation Department for covering the travel tickets for all participants, as part of its dedication to
social responsibility and contribution to humanitarian initiatives.
He further expressed his gratitude to Sharjah Charity International for its generous financial
support allocated to hotel reservations and transportation, noting that this integration between
government and charitable entities played a direct role in the success of the trip, bringing joy and
reassurance to the beneficiaries and strengthening values of solidarity and compassion within the
community.
The trip will last five days, from December 19 to 23, during which the group will head directly to
perform Umrah rituals, followed by a visit to Madinah, before returning home.
