Define in an SOP the maintenance schedule for all listed equipment
Why
The methods of maintenance and calibration for all the equipment present in the laboratory have now been set up. A preventive maintenance program ensures that these are carried out on a regular basis.
However:
- The maintenance schedule has to be maintained and updated frequently.
- The methods of maintenance and calibration may need to be updated sometimes.
- Every time a new piece of equipment is introduced a method for maintenance and calibration must be developed and included in the maintenance program.
What
To ensure that the above mentioned activities are always carried out, and carried out in the same way, you need to standardize the procedure of designing a method of maintenance and calibration and including this in the preventive maintenance schedule. For this an SOP for Equipment Maintenance needs to be developed.
How & who
Equipment Officer:
- Make an overview of content to be included in the SOP.
- Write the SOP according to the protocol on writing a Procedure SOP in the Master SOP and use the template for a Procedure SOP attached to the Master SOP.
- Review and authorize the SOP according to the procedure in the SOP for Document Control. Store the SOP in the folder Procedure SOPs.
