The Law makes the first amendment to the Law no. 41/VI/2004, of April 5, which establishes the foundations of the National Health Service.

This order, which provides for the organization and governance of health structures in the Gabonese Republic, supplements order No 1/95 of January 14, 1995, providing guidance for health policy in the Gabonese Republic.

Decreto-Lei No 18/2017

This decree sets forth the principles and regulations for health units within the National Health Service. It outlines specific statutes for these units, differentiating between those operating as public business entities and those in the public administrative sector. The decree applies to all National Health Service entities in the healthcare network, including hospitals, hospital centers, local health units, and other establishments providing care to National Health Service users, under public-private partnership agreements.

This decree, taken in application of the provisions of Ordinance No. 01/95 of January 14, 1995, on the orientation of health policy in the Gabonese Republic and Ordinance No. 10/2011 of August 11, 2011, on the organization of the pharmaceutical sector in the Gabonese Republic, sets the conditions for opening and operating a private health structure in the Gabonese Republic. This decree, taken in application of the provisions of Ordinance No. 01/95 of January 14, 1995, on the orientation of health policy in the Gabonese Republic, of Law No. 4/63 of January 11, 1963, relating to the practice of private medicine in the Gabonese Republic, of Decree No. 213/PR-MSPP-CAB of July 8, 1966 on the regulation of the practice of the professions of doctor, dental surgeon and midwife in the Gabonese Republic, sets the conditions for issuing authorizations relating to the practice of medical and paramedical professions in the Gabonese Republic. This order, taken in application of the provisions of Decree No. 213/PR-MSPP-CAB of July 8, 1966 on the regulation of the practice of the professions of doctor, dental surgeon and midwife in the Gabonese Republic and Orders No. 0106/MSPS and 0107/MSPS of March 16, 2015, determines the amounts and terms of payment of fees relating to the issue of authorization to practice medicine, to open and operate a private health structure in the Gabonese Republic. This decree, taken in application of the provisions of Law No. 020/2005 of January 3, 2006, establishes the creation and attributions of the Monitoring/Evaluation Committee for the issuance and implementation of authorizations for the exercise, opening and operation of private health structures in the Gabonese Republic. Portaria No 260/2014

This Regulation sets up rules on to the transportation of urgent and emergency patients, and to the transportation of non-urgent patients by land.

This decree, taken in application of the provisions of Law No. 020/2005 of January 3, 2006 and of Article 95 of Ordinance No. 1/95 of January 14, 1995, sets out the attributions and organization of regional hospital centers.

The document establishes the principles, norms and standards for the organization of the health care sector in Gabon.

This decree regulates the operation of private pharmacies, namely the requirements to be met by the premises of pharmacies and medicine sales points and their minimum areas, the necessary equipment, as well as the rules governing their activity and organization and the respective technical staff.

This decree, taken in application of the provisions of article 109 of Ordinance No. 01/95/PR/MSP of January 14, 1995, sets out the procedures for the care of patients in public health facilities.

Decreto-Lei No 83/2005

The decree establishes the principles and rules governing central hospitals.

This law sets out the foundations of the National Health Service, including the definition of health actions and services, on a permanent or occasional basis, by natural or legal persons governed by public or private law, with a view to promoting and protecting health, preventing, treating and rehabilitating illness.
