An upcoming webinar, “Beyond Health: Answering Tobacco Industry Tactics and Strengthening Policy Safeguards,” is designed to empower policymakers, advocates, and stakeholders to strengthen tobacco control policies by providing successful examples of strategies to counter undue influence by the tobacco industry's pervasive tactics in the non-health sectors.

Hosted by the WHO FCTC Knowledge Hub for Article 5.3 and co-organized by the WHO FCTC Knowledge Hub on Tobacco Taxation and the WHO FCTC Knowledge Hub on Legal Challenges, the virtual event will take place on Thursday August 28, 2025 from 14h00-15h15 (SAST).

Speakers include Dr Zunda Chisha, REEP Research Officer and the Programme Director of the WHO FCTC Knowledge Hub on Tobacco Taxation.

This webinar aims to outline a strategic roadmap for addressing tobacco industry interference in public policy and will also highlight successful approaches from countries that have effectively confronted these tactics, offering key insights and lessons learned.
