National Health Policy Strategy and Plan

Five-year Development strategy of the health care system of the Republic of Armenia 2020-2025

Cras varius. Morbi mollis tellus ac sapien. Nulla consequat massa quis enim.Armenia’s Five-Year Development Strategy of the Healthcare System (2020–2025) outlines a comprehensive plan to enhance healthcare governance, improve service accessibility, and strengthen institutional capacity. The strategy aligns with WHO guidelines, Universal Health Coverage (UHC) principles, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to address both communicable and non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health, and healthcare infrastructure. Significant progress has been made in reducing mortality rates, improving primary healthcare, and enhancing digital health systems. However, regional disparities, workforce shortages, and inefficient financing remain key challenges. The plan emphasizes a patient-centered approach, expanding preventive healthcare, and modernizing service delivery. Yet, financial sustainability and healthcare accessibility continue to limit progress, particularly in rural areas. The strategy focuses on strengthening governance, ensuring equitable health service distribution, and enhancing digital health integration. Public health initiatives target mental health, reproductive health, and the prevention of chronic diseases. Despite improvements, healthcare infrastructure gaps, inefficiencies in resource allocation, and fragmented service delivery persist. Although the strategy provides a clear roadmap for systemic reforms, its success depends on sustained investment, policy continuity, and improved coordination between government agencies and international partners.
