Health Legislation

This law, published in the Official Journal on 8 June 2023, establishes the National Health Insurance Fund ("Caisse d'assurance maladie universelle").

The law defines the legal framework for the prevention and comprehensive care of the human immunodeficiency virus and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS). The law includes the rights and obligations of people living with HIV as well as the prevention and prohibition of discriminatory practices. The law includes as well the treatments in the health system in Cabo Verde among other issues.

The Act regulates the promotion, regulation and integration of health insurance schemes in Nigeria.

This Act establishes a National Health Insurance Authority to implement a national health insurance scheme, establishes a national health insurance Fund to pay for the cost of health care services to members of the Scheme, and provides for the establishment of private health insurance schemes.

This law establishes a national health insurance Fund ("Caisse Nationale d'Assurance Santé").

This Act makes provision for the prevention and management of HIV and AIDS; provides for the rights and obligations of persons living with HIV or affected by HIV and AIDS; provides for the establishment of the National AIDS Commission; and provides for matters incidental thereto or connected therewith.

This Act provides for sound financing for the national health system; provides for universal access to quality insured health care services; establishes the National Health Insurance Management Authority and provides for its functions and powers; establishes the National Health Insurance Scheme and provides for its systems, procedures and operation; establishes the National Health Insurance Fund and provides for contributions to and payments from the Fund; provides for accreditation criteria and conditions in respect of insured health care services; provides for complaints and appeals processes; provides for the progressive establishment of provincial and district health offices of the Authority; and provides for matters connected with, or incidental to the foregoing.

The Ghana AIDS Commission Act, 2016 is to establish the Ghana AIDS commission and the National HIV and AIDS Fund, to provide for the management of the Fund, to prevent and control the HIV and AIDS epidemic, to promote and protect the rights of persons living with HIV or AIDS and to provide for related purposes.

The purpose of the law is to determine the fundamental principles of the control of HIV and AIDS in Niger.

The law creates the "Caisse Nationale de Solidarité et de Prévoyance Sociale" (The National Solidarity and Social Welfare Fund).

The National Health Insurance Act was adopted to establish a National Health Insurance Authority to implement a National Health Insurance Scheme, establish a National Health Insurance Fund to pay for the cost of health care services to members of the Scheme, establish private health insurance schemes, and to provide for related matters.

The purpose of this Act is to determine the fundamental principles relating to the protection of the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS and of persons affected.

This Act provides for prevention, treatment, care, support, and control of HIV and AIDS, for promotion of public health in relation to HIV and AIDS; provides for appropriate treatment, care and support using available resources to people living with or at risk of HIV and AIDS and provides for related matters.

The law makes rules on HIV/AIDS Prevention, Treatment and Control.

The law regulates social protection in Guinea-Bissau, including funding systems.

This Act provides measures for the prevention, management and control of HIV and AIDS, provides for the protection and promotion of public health and the appropriate treatment, counselling, support and care of persons infected or at risk of HIV and AIDS infection, and connected purposes.

The purpose of this law is to combat the spread of the disease caused by the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) leading to the reduction and loss of the body's immune defenses, resulting in Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS); to protect people living with HIV/AIDS against all forms of discrimination or stigmatization; and to reaffirm their fundamental rights and freedoms in accordance with international human rights instruments.

The purpose of this Law is to create a legal framework that allows for the implementation of the actions and mechanisms necessary for the education, prevention, treatment, epidemiological surveillance, research, care and monitoring of sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS, as well as to guarantee respect, protection and defence of human rights, and to eliminate the stigmatization and discrimination of people infected with HIV/AIDS. The law creates a social public establishment called the “Caisse nationale de sécurité sociale” (National Social Security Fund). The purpose of the Caisse Nationale de Sécurité Sociale is to manage the various branches of social security set up for workers, such as family benefits; prevention and compensation for occupational accidents and diseases; and old-age, invalidity and survivors' pensions. It is also responsible for managing the health and social action fund. It may also be entrusted with the management of other social security branches.
