Health Legislation

This document serves as a set of guidelines aimed at ensuring the provision of quality, accessible and equitable health care services across the country by defining the minimum requirements for service delivery, health facilities and workforce.

This Act establishes the Chemist Professionals' Council and provides for the powers, functions, management and regulation of the chemist, chemical laboratory technologist and the assistant chemical laboratory technologist, and provides for related matters.

The law creates the Order of Pharmacists of Cape Verde and provides its Statutes.

The objective of the law is to define the conditions and the rules for the practice of pharmacy.

This decree, taken in application of the provisions of Ordinance No. 01/95 of January 14, 1995, on the orientation of health policy in the Gabonese Republic and Ordinance No. 10/2011 of August 11, 2011, on the organization of the pharmaceutical sector in the Gabonese Republic, sets the conditions for opening and operating a private health structure in the Gabonese Republic. This decree, taken in application of the provisions of Ordinance No. 01/95 of January 14, 1995, on the orientation of health policy in the Gabonese Republic, of Law No. 4/63 of January 11, 1963, relating to the practice of private medicine in the Gabonese Republic, of Decree No. 213/PR-MSPP-CAB of July 8, 1966 on the regulation of the practice of the professions of doctor, dental surgeon and midwife in the Gabonese Republic, sets the conditions for issuing authorizations relating to the practice of medical and paramedical professions in the Gabonese Republic. This order, taken in application of the provisions of Decree No. 213/PR-MSPP-CAB of July 8, 1966 on the regulation of the practice of the professions of doctor, dental surgeon and midwife in the Gabonese Republic and Orders No. 0106/MSPS and 0107/MSPS of March 16, 2015, determines the amounts and terms of payment of fees relating to the issue of authorization to practice medicine, to open and operate a private health structure in the Gabonese Republic. This decree, taken in application of the provisions of Law No. 020/2005 of January 3, 2006, establishes the creation and attributions of the Monitoring/Evaluation Committee for the issuance and implementation of authorizations for the exercise, opening and operation of private health structures in the Gabonese Republic. This Act establishes the Pharmacy Council of Mauritius and provides for better regulation of the profession of pharmacists.

This Act provides a framework for a structured uniform health system within Namibia; consolidates the laws relating to state hospitals and state health services, and regulates the conduct of state hospitals and state health services; provides for financial assistance for special medical treatment of State patients; and provides for incidental matters.

This Order articulates the values of the pharmacy profession and expected standards of behaviour of pharmacy professionals to clients and the society. It is designed to guide and support professional practice of all pharmacy professionals.

This law makes the second amendment to the Statute of the Order of Nurses, approved by Decree-Law No. 104/98, of April 21, amended by Law No. 111/2009, of September 16, in order to adapt it to Law No. 2/2013, of January 10, which establishes the legal regime for the creation, organization and operation of professional public associations.

The Sierra Leone Basic Package of Essential Health Services provides a framework and guiding document for improving health service delivery in Sierra Leone. It represents a commitment from the Government of Sierra Leone to ensure that a basic level of essential health care service delivery is available to its people.

The Decree approves the Organic Statute of the Américo Boavida Hospital.

This decree establishes the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Universal Health Insurance Scheme and contains provisions concerning its composition as well as its departmental and regional structures.

The Botswana National Health Quality Standards for Clinics provide guidance on the topic of management and leadership in the governance of the health facility focusing on such areas as responsibilities and accountability of governing bodies; applicable laws and regulations; budgeting, reporting and auditing processes; planning of health services that correspond to the patient and population needs, etc.

The National Health Quality Standards for Hospitals provide guidelines for hospitals regarding coordination of patient care, facilities and equipment, clinical practice guidelines, assessment of patients, patient care, medication, etc.

This Regulation sets up rules on to the transportation of urgent and emergency patients, and to the transportation of non-urgent patients by land.

This decree was adopted to implement the Law 2014-131 (universal health insurance) to establish the Social Security Institution ("institution de Prévoyance sociale").

This Act promotes and protects the health and safety of the general public through safeguarding, maintaining and enforcing the highest standards in the practice of pharmacy.
