7. Physical infrastructure

Secure and accessible primary care facilities to provide effective services with reliable water, sanitation and waste disposal/recycling, telecommunications connectivity and a power supply, as well as transport systems that can connect patients to other care providers. Focusing on how quality primary care facilities and transport will be made universally accessible and acceptable to the population. 


KEY QUESTIONS TO SUPPORT PHC-ORIENTED APPROACH TO ADAPTING NATIONAL HEALTH PLAN:
• What policy commitment or plans have been developed (or need to be developed) that commit to adequate policy, planning and resource support for or rebuilding of health infrastructure for universal physical quality access? 
• What policies, regulations and standards need to be developed to ensure adequate quality and coverage of health system infrastructure?
• What resources have been planned and mobilised to ensure reliable WASH systems, telecommunications connectivity, reliable power supply, management and maintenance and transport systems at health facilities?
