Research and knowledge management, including dissemination of lessons learned, as well as the use of knowledge to accelerate the scale-up of successful strategies to strengthen PHC-oriented systems. Focusing on the capacity for implementation research to provide an evidence base for PHC orientation of health systems.

KEY QUESTIONS TO SUPPORT PHC-ORIENTED APPROACH TO ADAPTING NATIONAL HEALTH PLAN:
• Have leadership commitments been made to develop PHC research networks?
• Does health systems and policy research adopt a pro equity, system determinants and knowledge transfer approach for programs of implementation research?
• Is targeted funding available for development of PHC oriented research capacity development?
• What mechanisms/processes are available for involvement of people and communities in research questions, study design and conduct and dissemination?
