Confined Space Entry

At a recent Port Health Liaison group meeting (Scottish PLaN) a question was raised about the use of personal gas monitors for entering confined spaces on ships. Is this something other Port Health authorities use and if so what type of meter is used and in what situations. Also, does any authority require confined space entry training for such situations?

Kind Regards
