

The Secretariat of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC), is organising a technical webinar on ‘Know the players: Securing the supply chain of tobacco products with transparent license systems’, to be held on 19 April 2021 from 10:00 -11.30 Geneva & Cape Town time (UTC +2).
With a view to support the implementation of the provisions of the Protocol as well as to create awareness, the Convention Secretariat is organizing a series of Technical Webinars for interested Parties (focal points representing various sectors – e.g, health and customs – other relevant ministries/departments), academia, researchers, civil Society and also for the Parties to the Convention that are yet to become a Party to the Protocol.
This webinar is the second in the series, and the intention is for participants to become familiar with Article 6 of the Protocol, understand the importance of licence, the elements to consider when designing and implementing a licensing system, and to learn about the successes and obstacles encountered by some countries who will share their experiences.
