Health Legislation

This Act establishes the framework for the management of social health insurance; provides for the establishment of the Social Health Authority; gives effect to Article 43(1)(a) of the Constitution; and for connected purposes.

This Act harmonizes and consolidates the law on registration of persons; provides for registration of individuals; establishes a national identification register; establishes a national registration and identification authority; provides for the issue of national identification cards and aliens identification cards and for related matters.

This Act makes provision for the training, registration and licensing of physiotherapists, regulates their practice, provides for the establishment, powers and functions of the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya and for connected purposes.

This Act provides for the training, registration, licensing, practice and standards of counsellors and psychologists and for connected purposes.

This Act provides for the making, scrutiny, publication and operation of statutory instruments and for matters connected therewith.

This Act facilitates the promotion, co-ordination and regulation of the progress of science, technology and innovation of the country; assigns priority to the development of science, technology and innovation; entrenches science, technology and innovation into the national production system.

This Act makes provisions for the establishment of the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority and for connected purposes.

This Act consolidates and amends the law to make provision for the registration of medical practitioners and dentists and for purposes connected therewith and incidental thereto.

This Act controls the production, manufacture, sale, labelling, advertising, promotion and sponsorship of tobacco products, provides for the Tobacco Control Board, regulates smoking in specified areas and connected purposes.

This Act provides for the training, registration and licensing of nutritionists and dieticians; provides for the regulation of the standards, and practice of the profession; ensures their effective participation in matters relating to nutrition and dietetics, and for connected purposes.

This Act provides measures for the prevention, management and control of HIV and AIDS, provides for the protection and promotion of public health and the appropriate treatment, counselling, support and care of persons infected or at risk of HIV and AIDS infection, and connected purposes.

This Act provides for the training, registration and licensing of medical laboratory technicians and technologists, provides for the establishment, powers and functions of the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board, and for connected purposes.

This Act makes provision for the registration of persons and for the issue of identity cards, and for purposes connected therewith.

This Act consolidates the law relating to the medical and dental practice and provides for other connected purposes.

This Act establishes a national drug policy and a national drug authority to ensure the availability, at all times, of essential, efficacious and cost-effective drugs to the entire population of Uganda, as a means of providing satisfactory health care and safeguarding the appropriate use of drugs.
