This decree determines the conditions for the creation, approval, operation and control of reproductive health structures in application of the provisions of Article 12 paragraph 3 of Law No. 2003-04 of March 3, 2003 relating to the sexual and reproductive health.

This Law provides amendments to the provisions of Articles 17, 17-1, 17-2, 17-3, 17-4, 17-5, 17-6, 17-7, 19-1 of the Law No 2003-04 of 03 March 2003 relating to sexual health and reproduction.

This Decree regulates the urgent measures to stop the spread of HIV/AIDS in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea. This document is published as a part of a compilation of laws and decrees and this Decree is located on page 96 of the file.

The purpose of this Law is to create a legal framework that allows for the implementation of the actions and mechanisms necessary for the education, prevention, treatment, epidemiological surveillance, research, care and monitoring of sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS, as well as to guarantee respect, protection and defence of human rights, and to eliminate the stigmatization and discrimination of people infected with HIV/AIDS. This Law provides provisions on the definition, principles and rights in reproductive health, defines reproductive health service entities and workforce, and regulates contraception, voluntary termination of pregnancy, rights of people suffering from STDs/AIDS and penal provisions.
