The code provides rules regarding different rears of public health. It defines the rights and duties pertaining to the protection and promotion of the health of the population.

The Public Health Act

This Act provides for the promotion, preservation and maintenance of public health with a view to ensuring the provisions of comprehensive, functional and sustainable public health services to the general public; and provides for other related measures.

This decree, taken in application of the provisions of article 62 of order No. 0022/PR/2007 of August 21, 2007, defines the basket of care of the Compulsory Health Insurance and Social Security Scheme.

This decree, taken in application of the provisions of Articles 28 et seq. of Ordinance No. 0022/PR/2007, 6 et seq. of Ordinance No. 0023/PR/2007 and 3 et seq. of Law No. 11/82 of 24 January 1983, establishes the statutes of the National Health Insurance and Social Guarantee Fund, abbreviated to CNAMGS, hereinafter referred to as "the Fund".

This decree, taken in application of the provisions of articles 51 of the Constitution and 107 of Ordinance No. 0022/PR/2007 of August 21, 2007, establishes the technical operating procedures of the Compulsory Health Insurance and Social Security Scheme.

National Disaster Management Act

This Act provides for integrated and coordinated disaster management that focuses on prevention, preparedness, response, mitigation, and recovery from, disasters or emergency situations, and the management of their effects, establishes a National Disaster Management Agency and Regional, District and Village Disaster Management Committees.

This order, taken in application of the provisions of Law No 013/2007 of July 19, 2007, establishes a compulsory health insurance and social security system in the Gabonese Republic.

Insurance Act

This Act regulates the private insurance industry by setting out the legal framework for the licensing, operation, and supervision of insurance companies, ensuring solvency, etc.

The executive decree n° 06-339 of 2 Ramadhan 1427 corresponding to 25 September 2006 modifies the executive decree n° 94-187 of 26 Moharram 1415 corresponding to 6 July 1994 fixing the distribution of the rate of the social security contribution. This decree was published in the official journal of 27 September 2006 (see page 16).

This Executive Decree No 06-370 of 26 Ramadhan 1427 governs the creation, organization and operation of the national fund for the collection of social security contributions. It was published in the Official Journal on 28 October 2006 (pages 9-14).

The decree covers the powers, organization and operation of the Public Hygiene Police.

This Decree establishes the rules for the organization and functioning of the National Health Insurance Fund of Mauritania.

This law governs public hygiene in Burkina Faso, in particular hygiene on public roads and squares, the hygiene of swimming pools and bathing areas, homes, food products, water, industrial and commercial facilities, schools, pre-schools and health establishments, public buildings and the natural environment, and noise control. Its main objective is to preserve and promote public health.

This Order establishes the health insurance regime in Mauritania. Specifically, it delineates the groups benefiting from the insurance regime, groups of services guaranteed, financing and reimbursement mechanisms, etc.

The Decree sets out the statutes of the social public establishment called the “Caisse nationale de sécurité sociale” (National Social Security Fund).

The National Health Insurance Regulations of 2004 govern the registration, management, and oversight of health insurance schemes licensed under the Health Insurance Act of 2003, detailing requirements for licensing conditions, and fees. They mandate non-discrimination, set minimum benefit standards, and outline procedures for interim management and the accreditation of healthcare facilities.

The law creates a social public establishment called the “Caisse nationale de sécurité sociale” (National Social Security Fund). The purpose of the Caisse Nationale de Sécurité Sociale is to manage the various branches of social security set up for workers, such as family benefits; prevention and compensation for occupational accidents and diseases; and old-age, invalidity and survivors' pensions. It is also responsible for managing the health and social action fund. It may also be entrusted with the management of other social security branches.

National Health Act No 61 of 2003

This Act provides a framework for a structured uniform health system within the Republic, taking into account the obligations imposed by the Constitution and other laws on the national, provincial and local governments with regard to health services; and provides for matters connected therewith.
