This regulation is issued to implement the Food and Medicine Administration Proclamation No.1112/2019. It provides the organization, powers and duties of the Ethiopian Food and Drug Authority.

This Proclamation is to provide for Food and Medicine Administration. It provides rules to regulate several areas including food, medicine, medical devices, cosmetics, and tobacco products.

The Health Act

This Act establishes a unified health system, coordinates the inter-relationship between the national government and county government health systems, provides for regulation of health care service and health care service providers, health products and health technologies and for connected purposes.

This Act makes provision for the training, registration and licensing of occupational therapists; regulates their practice; provides for the establishment, powers and functions of the Occupational Therapy Council of Kenya and for connected purposes.

The Physiotherapists Act

This Act makes provision for the training, registration and licensing of physiotherapists, regulates their practice, provides for the establishment, powers and functions of the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya and for connected purposes.

The Counsellors and Psychologists Act

This Act provides for the training, registration, licensing, practice and standards of counsellors and psychologists and for connected purposes.

The Kenya Medical Supplies Authority Act

This Act makes provisions for the establishment of the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority and for connected purposes.

Medical Practitioners and Dentists Act

This Act consolidates and amends the law to make provision for the registration of medical practitioners and dentists and for purposes connected therewith and incidental thereto.

Nutritionists and Dieticians Act

This Act provides for the training, registration and licensing of nutritionists and dieticians; provides for the regulation of the standards, and practice of the profession; ensures their effective participation in matters relating to nutrition and dietetics, and for connected purposes.

These regulations establish the Health Professionals Council. The council has, among other things, the following attributions: advise the Minister; work in collaboration with the appropriate bodies, ensure that health professional training offered in the country is of high standard; make sure that professional ethics are observed by professionals; follow up and supervise that the names of registered professionals and those who are cancelled from the registry due to various reasons are properly kept by the secretariat.

This Act provides for the training, registration and licensing of medical laboratory technicians and technologists, provides for the establishment, powers and functions of the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board, and for connected purposes.

This Act makes provisions for the training, registration and licensing of clinical officers; to regulate their practice and for connected purposes.

The Nurses and Midwives Act

This Act makes provision for the training, registration, enrolment and licensing of nurses, regulates their conduct and ensures their maximum participation in the health care of the community and other connected purposes.

The Pharmacy and Poisons Act

The purpose of this Act is to make better provision for the control of the profession of pharmacy and the trade in drugs and poisons.
