Health Legislation

The objective of the law is to define the conditions and the rules for the practice of pharmacy.

This decree, taken in application of the provisions of Ordinance No. 01/95 of January 14, 1995, on the orientation of health policy in the Gabonese Republic, of Law No. 4/63 of January 11, 1963, relating to the practice of private medicine in the Gabonese Republic, of Decree No. 213/PR-MSPP-CAB of July 8, 1966 on the regulation of the practice of the professions of doctor, dental surgeon and midwife in the Gabonese Republic, sets the conditions for issuing authorizations relating to the practice of medical and paramedical professions in the Gabonese Republic. This order, taken in application of the provisions of Decree No. 213/PR-MSPP-CAB of July 8, 1966 on the regulation of the practice of the professions of doctor, dental surgeon and midwife in the Gabonese Republic and Orders No. 0106/MSPS and 0107/MSPS of March 16, 2015, determines the amounts and terms of payment of fees relating to the issue of authorization to practice medicine, to open and operate a private health structure in the Gabonese Republic. This Act establishes the Pharmacy Council of Mauritius and provides for better regulation of the profession of pharmacists.

The Decree establishes the rules for implementing Law 34/2014, of December 31, on the Right to Information. It is applicable to the bodies and institutions of the State, direct and indirect administration, representation abroad, local authorities and also to private entities which, under the Law or by contract, carry out activities of public interest or which, in their activity, benefit from public resources from any source and have in their possession information of public interest.

This Order articulates the values of the pharmacy profession and expected standards of behaviour of pharmacy professionals to clients and the society. It is designed to guide and support professional practice of all pharmacy professionals.

This law makes the second amendment to the Statute of the Order of Nurses, approved by Decree-Law No. 104/98, of April 21, amended by Law No. 111/2009, of September 16, in order to adapt it to Law No. 2/2013, of January 10, which establishes the legal regime for the creation, organization and operation of professional public associations.

This decree establishes the Steering Committee for the implementation of the Universal Health Insurance Scheme and contains provisions concerning its composition as well as its departmental and regional structures.

This decree was adopted to implement the Law 2014-131 (universal health insurance) to establish the Social Security Institution ("institution de Prévoyance sociale").

This Act promotes and protects the health and safety of the general public through safeguarding, maintaining and enforcing the highest standards in the practice of pharmacy.

This Act makes provision for the training, registration and licensing of physiotherapists, regulates their practice, provides for the establishment, powers and functions of the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya and for connected purposes.

This Act provides for the training, registration, licensing, practice and standards of counsellors and psychologists and for connected purposes.

The decree creates a multi-sectoral committee to combat counterfeiting and the illicit sale of medicines and other pharmaceutical products, reporting to Niger's Minister of Public Health.

These Regulations amend the Health Professionals Act of 2006 by repealing and substituting Schedule 1 of the Act dedicated to the enumeration of the categories of health professionals.

The decree establishes rules concerning the free movement and establishment of doctors in the West African Economic and Monetary Union.

The Health Professions Regulatory Bodies Act of 2013 establishes the Allied Health Professions Council, the Medical and Dental Council, the Nursing and Midwifery Council, the Pharmacy Council, the Psychology Council and provides for related purposes.

This Act makes provisions for the establishment of the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority and for connected purposes.

The decree establishes a Committee of Experts in charge of technical evaluation, whose mission is to carry out the technical evaluation of applications for registration of pharmaceutical products for human use. It also gives an opinion on the quality, safety and efficacy of pharmaceutical products for human use submitted for registration.

The decree creates the Commission Nationale du Médicament (CNM) for human use, whose mission is to validate the work of the Expert Committee responsible for the technical evaluation of applications for marketing authorization for pharmaceutical products for human use. It also gives a final opinion on marketing authorization applications; applications for renewal, extension of variation and transfer of marketing authorization; temporary suspension of marketing authorization; and proposals for definitive withdrawal of marketing authorization.

This Law establishes the Rwanda allied health professions Council and determines its organisation, functioning and competence.
