Health Legislation

This law, taken in application of the provisions of Article 52 of the Constitution and those of Law No. 21/2020 of June 30, 2020 authorizing the President of the Republic to legislate by ordinances during the parliamentary intersession, ratifies Ordinance No. 0009/PR/2020 of August 14, 2020 establishing the creation, attributions and organization of the National Order of Midwives of Gabon.

The Insurance Act of 2021 establishes the National Insurance Commission, and provides for the regulation and supervision of the insurance market and related matters.

This decree establishes the National Institute for Medical Assistance (Institut National d'Assistance Médicale) whose mission is to implement the policies, strategies an reforms for finanicng and managing free healthcare services for vulnerable populations. It is under the ministry of health (technical supervision) and the Ministry of Finances (financial suppervision). The decree further addresses the mandate, structure and ressources of the Institute.

The legislation regulates the production, import, export, conservation, distribution, quality analysis and sale of medicines for human use, including traditional medicines, as well as all other health products, pharmaceutical practice and opticianry.

The Law makes the first amendment to the Law no. 41/VI/2004, of April 5, which establishes the foundations of the National Health Service.

This Order establishes the creation, attributions and organization of the National Order of Midwives of Gabon.

This Decree establishes the special status of civil servants of the of the health corps classified in the following areas of specialization: medical-sanitary; medical sanitary engineering and public hygiene; biology. The decree creates a National Technical Committee responsible for the administration of the District Health Information System in Niger. Its mission is to ensure the administration and updating of the platform; to identify and deal with users' technical grievances and concerns, and to ensure the system's security, maintenance and capacity building.

These Instructions determine the duties and functioning of committees in charge of management of public or subsidised health facilities. These instructions apply to the following committees of health facilities: Committee of a Referral Hospital; Committee of a Provincial Hospital; Committee of a District Hospital; Committee of a Specialised Hospital; Committee of a Medicalised Health Centre; and Committee of a Health Centre. 

By this decree, the Government of Benin appoints the auditors of the National Health Insurance Agency.

The law sets out the fundamental principles and rules for the organization and operation of the national public health system.
