    Development Assistance for COVID-19 Response

This section analyzes the flow of Development Assistance (DA) specifically allocated to the COVID-19 pandemic response, utilizing data from the OECD's Creditor Reporting System (CRS).

To capture COVID-19 related funding, the CRS employs two main tools: a dedicated health sector code for "COVID-19 control" and a keyword marker "#COVID-19". Complemented by reporting guidance on ODA-eligible COVID-19 activities, this approach enables disaggregating and analyzing DA flows directed at the pandemic response.

The CRS data comprises various sectors beyond healthcare, including economic support, social protection, and education. This provides comprehensive insights into how DA has supported not only direct health interventions, but also broader socio-economic recovery efforts related to COVID-19 in ODA eligible countries.

The data and charts presented in FWTW illustrate the distribution of COVID-19 DA globally, by recipient country, sector, and specific health purposes. This granular data allows for in-depth analysis of how development assistance has been mobilized to address the multidimensional impact of the pandemic worldwide.
