Publication of the second edition of the European Manual

The second edition of the European Manual for Hygiene Standards and Communicable Disease Surveillance on Passenger Ships is now complete and an electronic copy is available for download from the following link:

The new edition of the manual has incorporated the relevant new and amended legislation as well as feedback received during the pilot inspections by ships officers, ship companies, trainers and inspectors. In addition, a guideline for the prevention and control of vaccine-preventable diseases on passenger ships has been developed and included in part B of the manual.
