The Nursing and Midwifery Act

This Act makes provisions for the protection, promotion and preservation of public health, safety and welfare through regulation and control of nursing and midwifery education and practice.

The Persons with Disabilities Act

The Act makes provisions for health care, social support, accessibility, rehabilitation and vocational training, communication, employment or work protection and promotion of basic rights for persons with disabilities and provides for related matters.

The law creates the legal framework for civil identification and the issue of national identity cards. The purpose is to collect, process and store the personal data of each citizen in order to establish their civil identity. The law applies to acts of civil identification and the issuing of identity cards to Angolan citizens from the age of at least six.

Its purpose is to cover the health care costs inherent in sickness and maternity for insured persons and their dependent family members. The law defines the beneficiaries, the guaranteed benefits, the conditions of coverage, affiliation and registration, and financial organization, among other aspects.

DNA Identification Act

This Act establishes the legal framework for the collection, analysis, and use of DNA samples for criminal investigations, paternity testing, and identification purposes and establishes the DNA Population Statistical Database, as well as the Unidentified and Missing Persons Database.

The law regulates the legal framework for the exercise of private medicine.   

Tobacco Control Act

This Act regulates the use, sale, manufacture, advertising and promotion of a tobacco product and provides for connected matters.

The law regulates civil status in Togo. It was published in the Official Journal on 30 June 2009 (pages 6 to 11).

The Public Health Act

This Act provides for the promotion, preservation and maintenance of public health with a view to ensuring the provisions of comprehensive, functional and sustainable public health services to the general public; and provides for other related measures.

The Law defines the status of refugees in Burkina Faso. 

The purpose of this Act is to determine the fundamental principles relating to the protection of the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS and of persons affected.

National Disaster Management Act

This Act provides for integrated and coordinated disaster management that focuses on prevention, preparedness, response, mitigation, and recovery from, disasters or emergency situations, and the management of their effects, establishes a National Disaster Management Agency and Regional, District and Village Disaster Management Committees.

National Identity Register Act, 2008 Act 750

The National Identity Register Act of 2008 provides for the capture of personal information by individuals by the National Identity Authority for the issue of national identity cards; for the protection of the personal information; for conditions of access, use, retention and disclosure of information and for related matters.

This Law establishes the National Council of Nurses and Midwives and determines its organisation, functioning and competence.
