Identification Act

This Act provides for the compilation and maintenance of a population register in respect of the population of Namibia, for the issue of identity documents to persons whose names are included in the population register; and for the matters connected therewith.

This Act extends membership of the medical aid scheme established for the public service under the Public Service Act, 1980, to members and former members of the National Assembly, judges and former judges of the Supreme Court and High Court, certain other office-bearers and other persons and to their surviving spouses; repeals section 1 of the Medical Aid Scheme for the Government Service Extension Act, 1982; and provides for matters connected therewith.

Constitution

The Namibian Constitution was adopted in 1990 and amended in 1998, 2010 and 2014. The Constitution of Namibia is the supreme law of the country, it establishes state principles, defines the separation of powers in the state, defines rights and freedoms, etc. It consists of 148 articles that are grouped into 21 Chapters that are supplemented by 8 schedules.

Mauritius Institute of Health Act

This Act establishes the Mauritius Institute of Health, outlines its functions in promoting health education, research and training, as well as coordinating public health initiatives in Mauritius.

Ayurvedic and Other Traditional Medicines Act

This Act regulates the practice of traditional medicine in Mauritius; establishes the Traditional Medicine Board; defines the rules for registration as practitioners of traditional medicine, etc.

National Identity Card Act

This Act establishes the legal framework for the production, use, and regulation of national identity cards for citizens of Mauritius.

Proclamation No 24 of 1984 The Pharmacy Act 60/1983

This Act regulates the practice of pharmacy in the country, establishes guidelines for the licensing, operation, and conduct of pharmacies, as well as regulates the sale and manufacture of pharmaceutical products.

International Health Regulations Act

This Act applies the International Health Regulations, adopted by the World Health Assembly, in the Republic, and provides for incidental matters.

The Constitution

The Constitution of the Republic of Mauritius is the supreme law that proclaims the key state principles and values, establishes rights and freedoms, regulates the separation of powers within the state, etc. The Constitution of Mauritius consists of 122 Articles that are grouped into 11 chapters.

Emergency Powers Act

This Act grants the President of Mauritius the power to adopt regulations regarding the movement of persons, acquisition of property by the government, search of persons or premises, etc., during time of public emergency.

Births, Marriages and Deaths Act

This Act consolidates the laws relating to the registration of births, marriages and deaths.

Aliens Registration Act

This Act establishes the general framework for the registration of aliens (non-citizens or non-residents) in Mauritius.

Edgar Laurent Tuberculosis Foundation Act

This Act establishes the Edgar Laurent Tuberculosis Foundation in Mauritius to combat tuberculosis through awareness, prevention, and treatment programs.

Public Health Act

This Act provides the legal framework for the protection and promotion of public health in the country, addressing issues such as disease prevention, sanitation, health surveillance and emergency health measures, etc.
