This Law is an amendment to Law No 32/2016 of 28/08/2016 governing persons and family.

These Instructions determine the duties and functioning of committees in charge of management of public or subsidised health facilities. These instructions apply to the following committees of health facilities: Committee of a Referral Hospital; Committee of a Provincial Hospital; Committee of a District Hospital; Committee of a Specialised Hospital; Committee of a Medicalised Health Centre; and Committee of a Health Centre. 

The document sets accreditation standards and a performance assessment of pharmaceutical services in Rwanda. The standards are intended for implementation within Rwandan hospitals and community pharmacies.

The instructions govern dual clinical practice in Rwanda. The Instructions apply to medical doctors and dental surgeons working in health facilities.

The Instructions are intended to improve the quality of health care services provided in private health facilities to the Rwandan population and to determine the basic requirements for the operation of a private health facility. These instructions do not regulate traditional, alternative and complementary medicine.

The document sets out guidelines to provide guidance to health care providers of public and private facilities during the process of referral and promote the quality and continuity of health care services.

This Law amends the Law 03/2015 of 02/03/2015 governing the Organisation of Community-Based Health Insurance Scheme. Please refer to page 171 of the file to see the text of the Law.

This Order determines contributions to the community-based health insurance scheme, amounts of their contributions and modalities for their payment.

Right to Information Act, 2019 Act 989

The Right to Information Act of 2019 provides for the implementation of the constitutional right to information held by a public institution, subject to the exemptions that are necessary and consistent with the protection of the public interest in a democratic society, to foster a culture of transparency and accountability in public affairs and to provide for related matters.

The document establishes the standards for the authorization to operate a private health facility in Rwanda.

Patient Rights Charter

The Patients' Rights Charter outlines the fundamental rights of patients in Rwanda.

This Law amends the Law 03/2015 of 02/03/2015 governing the Organisation of Community-Based Health Insurance Scheme.

This Law amended the Law n°14/2008 governing registration of the population and issuance of the national identity card.

This Law establishes the Rwanda Food and Drugs Authority and determines its mission, organization and functioning. The authority has a legal personality and enjoys administrative and financial autonomy. 

The National Identity Register (Amendment) Act of 2017 amends the National Identity Register Act, 2008 (Act 750), to make further provision for the mode of application for identity cards, provide for the conditions and requirements for registration, prescribe information to be supplied by persons to whom national identity cards are to be issued and for related matters.

Local Governance (Amendment) Act, 2017 Act 940

The Local Governance (Amendment) Act of 2017 amends the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936) to provide for the discretion of the President to revoke the appointment of an appointed member of a District Assembly.

Essential Medicines List

The Essential Medicines List of Ghana of 2017 is a comprehensive guide outlining the medicines deemed essential for addressing the primary health care needs of the population. It includes a wide range of medications selected based on their relevance to public health, evidence on efficacy and safety, and comparative cost-effectiveness, aimed at ensuring accessibility and affordability.

This document describes each level of the public health system in Rwanda in terms of the types of services offered, the description and qualifications of staff that provide the services and the equipment required to carry out the services. The health service packages support the clinical and managerial standards by which the healthcare facilities operate. The ultimate goal of this document is to provide guidance in the organization of public health service facilities to improve the quality of health care and services provided to the population of Rwanda.

Ghana AIDS Commission Act, 2016 Act 938

The Ghana AIDS Commission Act, 2016 is to establish the Ghana AIDS commission and the National HIV and AIDS Fund, to provide for the management of the Fund, to prevent and control the HIV and AIDS epidemic, to promote and protect the rights of persons living with HIV or AIDS and to provide for related purposes.
