The law determines the essential rules relating to public health and hygiene in the Republic of Niger. The law contains articles referring to the fundamental principles of health in Niger, such as the functioning of the national health system, or health information; as well as the fundamental principles of hygiene, such as urban health and food safety.

The purpose of the law is to determine the legal regime of civil status in Niger. It institutes a civil status system, which is the set of qualities inherent to a person that the law takes into consideration in order to attach legal effects to that person. The law governs declarations of civil status facts.

The law establishes the fundamental principles of social protection in Niger. The purpose of the present law is to guarantee social protection to people at risk of vulnerability and vulnerable people in accordance with the National Social Protection Policy.

The purpose of the law is to govern the protection of personal data.

The Pharmacy Council Act

This Act establishes the Pharmacy Council of Mauritius and provides for better regulation of the profession of pharmacists.

This law is to prevent and combat the illicit trafficking of migrants; protect the rights of migrants subject to illicit trafficking; and promote and facilitate national and international cooperation to prevent and combat the smuggling of migrants in all its forms.

The purpose of the law is to determine the fundamental principles of the control of HIV and AIDS in Niger.

Clinical Trials Act

This Act regulates the conduct of clinical trials for medicinal products in Mauritius.

The law sets the rules applicable to legal aid and judicial assistance and creates the National Agency for Legal Aid and Judicial Assistance, which is responsible for implementing the provisions relating to legal aid and judicial assistance.

The law creates a public administrative establishment, with legal personality and financial autonomy, called the Centre national de lutte contre le cancer (National Cancer Center).

DNA Identification Act

This Act establishes the legal framework for the collection, analysis, and use of DNA samples for criminal investigations, paternity testing, and identification purposes and establishes the DNA Population Statistical Database, as well as the Unidentified and Missing Persons Database.

Insurance Act

This Act regulates the private insurance industry by setting out the legal framework for the licensing, operation, and supervision of insurance companies, ensuring solvency, etc.

Loi No 2006-12, relative à la Lutte Antitabac

The purpose of this Act is to: a) protect the health of the population against the many debilitating and fatal diseases caused by tobacco; b) limit the population's access to tobacco and protect it from inducements to use tobacco and the smoking which may result; c) make the population aware of the dangers of tobacco use and exposure to tobacco smoke.

This law governs reproductive health in Niger. It sets out the principles of reproductive health, and regulates reproductive health structures, care and services, among other aspects.

Data Protection Act

This Act establishes the framework for regulation of data protection and establishes the Data Protection Office and its mandate, etc.

The Nursing Council Act 2003

This Act repeals and replaces the Nursing Council Act of 1992 to make further and better provisions for the establishment, composition and functioning of a Nursing Council, to establish a disciplinary Tribunal and to better regulate and control the nursing and midwifery professions.

The law creates a social public establishment called the “Caisse nationale de sécurité sociale” (National Social Security Fund). The purpose of the Caisse Nationale de Sécurité Sociale is to manage the various branches of social security set up for workers, such as family benefits; prevention and compensation for occupational accidents and diseases; and old-age, invalidity and survivors' pensions. It is also responsible for managing the health and social action fund. It may also be entrusted with the management of other social security branches.

Information and Communication Technologies Act

This Act establishes a legal framework for the regulation, development, and promotion of the information and communication technology sector, including provisions for electronic transactions, data protection and cybersecurity.

Dangerous Drug Act

This Act provides for the regulation, control and classification of dangerous drugs.

Mental Health Care Act

This Act provides a legal framework for the care, treatment, and protection of individuals with mental health disorders, establishes guidelines for the admission, detention, and rights of patients in mental health facilities, etc.
