Health Legislation

This Law contributes to the protection of the present and future generations from the devastating health, social and health effects of diseases affecting public health and in particular reproductive health in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. This Act repeals and replaces the Public Health Act (Cap 198). The Act provides the legal framework for the protection and improvement of public health, regulates issues such as sanitation, disease control, environmental health and health care services.

This Act establishes a Health Care Agency and provides for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

This Act establishes the Public Health Authority to regulate and monitor health-related services, and establishes the Public Health Authority Board and the Appeals Board, their functions, powers and procedures and provides for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

This Law provides for the extension of the health insurance regime as established by Ordinance No 2005-006 of 29 September 2005 to other population categories such as employees of local authorities and their public establishments; employees of projects and other administrative structures benefiting from financial autonomy; persons exercising a liberal profession; employees and pensioners of the private sector, private law associations and other civil society organizations; professional journalists and private press collaborators; independent workers.

This Law defines the legal provisions relating to medicines, medical devices, other health products and the practice of pharmacy in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. This Law is published in a collection of other legislative acts and can be found on page 3 of the file.

This Act regulates the use, sale, manufacture, advertising and promotion of a tobacco product and provides for connected matters.

This Act provides the legal framework for the regulation, registration, and practice of health professionals by establishing the Health Professionals Council.

This Act regulates the collection, processing, and storage of personal data, ensuring individuals' privacy rights and establishing safeguards against misuse of personal information.

This Act establishes the legal framework for the issuance, use, and management of national identity cards and birth certificates in Seychelles.

This Act establishes the Seychelles Nurses and Midwives Council, makes provision for registration of nurses and midwives, for their training, qualification and disciplinary control; repeals the Midwives Act, and the Nurses' Registration Act; and provides for connected purposes.

This Act regulates the establishment, management, and operation of hospitals and dispensaries in the country.

This Act regulates the practice of pharmacy in Seychelles, including the licensing, operation, and ethical conduct of pharmacists, as well as the sale and distribution of pharmaceutical products.

This Act establishes the framework for the registration of vital events and civil statuses such as births (including stillbirths and abandoned children), marriage, deaths, divorces, etc.
