The Act provides for the collection, processing, disclosure, and protection of personal data.

The purpose of this Law is to create a legal framework that allows for the implementation of the actions and mechanisms necessary for the education, prevention, treatment, epidemiological surveillance, research, care and monitoring of sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS, as well as to guarantee respect, protection and defence of human rights, and to eliminate the stigmatization and discrimination of people infected with HIV/AIDS. The Act establishes the Swaziland Standards Authority and provides for matters connected thereto.

This Act makes provisions regarding the registration and licensing of medical and dental practitioners with a Medical and Dental Council, and provides for matters connected with the practice of these professions.

This Act makes provisions for public health and connected matters. This includes, among others, providing rules to address communicable diseases and nuisances (e.g. unsuitable dwellings).

This Act makes provisions regarding nurses and midwives including the establishment of certain bodies in relation with the professions.
