Health Legislation

This Order provides for the creation, organization and operation of the program called the National Health Education Programme.

The law authorized the extension of the state of health emergency in 2021.

The law creates a public administrative establishment, called the "Agence Nationale de Sécurité Sanitaire", under the supervision of the Ministry of Health. The mission of the Agence is to implement the strategic orientations of the Ministry of Health in the field of health safety.

This Decree defines the attributions, the organization and the functioning of the Public Hygiene Police of Mauritania.

This Law defines the rules of public health and hygiene in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, in particular on public spaces, homes, food and non-food products, water, commercial facilities and industries, educational and health establishments, public buildings, and the natural environment. Its main objective is to preserve and promote public health.

The Code provides rules regarding different rears of public health as the prevention and control of communicable diseases; sanitation and housing; and food and water protection among other aspects.
