The law determines the essential rules relating to public health and hygiene in the Republic of Niger. The law contains articles referring to the fundamental principles of health in Niger, such as the functioning of the national health system, or health information; as well as the fundamental principles of hygiene, such as urban health and food safety.

The law authorized the extension of the state of health emergency in 2021.

The Decree adopts the National Strategy for University Health Coverage in Niger 2021-2030.

The law creates a public administrative establishment, called the "Agence Nationale de Sécurité Sanitaire", under the supervision of the Ministry of Health. The mission of the Agence is to implement the strategic orientations of the Ministry of Health in the field of health safety.

Code de la Santé Publique

The Code provides rules regarding different rears of public health as the prevention and control of communicable diseases; sanitation and housing; and food and water protection among other aspects.
