The objective of this law is to provide the rules relating to public hygiene and sanitation in rural and urban areas.

The law determines the essential rules relating to public health and hygiene in the Republic of Niger. The law contains articles referring to the fundamental principles of health in Niger, such as the functioning of the national health system, or health information; as well as the fundamental principles of hygiene, such as urban health and food safety.

The aim of the law is to promote and protect the rights of persons with disabilities for their effective integration, so that their dignity is preserved and they can benefit from conditions that enable them, where appropriate, to be useful to themselves, their families, their communities and society as a whole by breaking down barriers of all kinds.

This Act repeals and replaces the Public Health Act (Cap 198). The Act provides the legal framework for the protection and improvement of public health, regulates issues such as sanitation, disease control, environmental health and health care services.

This Decree defines the attributions, the organization and the functioning of the Public Hygiene Police of Mauritania.

The Persons with Disability Act, 2006 is an act to provide for persons with disability, to establish a National Council on Persons with Disability and to provide for related matters.

This law governs public hygiene in Burkina Faso, in particular hygiene on public roads and squares, the hygiene of swimming pools and bathing areas, homes, food products, water, industrial and commercial facilities, schools, pre-schools and health establishments, public buildings and the natural environment, and noise control. This Law provides a framework to govern public health in Liberia by focusing on the control of acute communicable diseases and conditions, environmental sanitation, health standards of public and private institutions, regulation of drugs, disposal of human remains, as well as regulation and supervision of medical and allied health professions.

This Act makes provision for the improvement of the care, assistance and education of handicapped persons in Malawi; establishes a Council for the handicapped; provides for the voluntary registration of handicapped persons; provides for the registration, direction, control and regulation of associations whose objects include the welfare of the handicapped; and further provides for matters incidental thereto and connected therewith.

This Act makes provisions for public health and connected matters. This includes, among others, providing rules to address communicable diseases and nuisances (e.g. unsuitable dwellings).

The General Health Regulations set out comprehensive guidelines and standards for public health and hygiene, including the control of communicable diseases, sanitation, food safety, and environmental health.
