National Identity Cards (Amendment) Act, 2022

The Act amended the National Identity Cards Act, 2011.

This law determines the general conditions of asylum in the Republic of Chad in accordance with the Convention relating to the Status of Refugees of July 28, 1951 as amended by its New York Protocol of January 31 and the Convention of the Organization of the African Unity of September 10, 1969 governing aspects specific to refugee problems in Africa.

The purpose of the Act is to establish a biometric identification and authentication system for natural persons.

Right to Information Act, 2019 Act 989

The Right to Information Act of 2019 provides for the implementation of the constitutional right to information held by a public institution, subject to the exemptions that are necessary and consistent with the protection of the public interest in a democratic society, to foster a culture of transparency and accountability in public affairs and to provide for related matters.

This Law amended the Law n°14/2008 governing registration of the population and issuance of the national identity card.

The law institutes in Burkina Faso an Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) biometric identity card with an electronic chip. The ECOWAS identity card is an official identification document required for all civil acts.

This Law establishes a biometric identity card.

The Decree establishes the rules for implementing Law 34/2014, of December 31, on the Right to Information. It is applicable to the bodies and institutions of the State, direct and indirect administration, representation abroad, local authorities and also to private entities which, under the Law or by contract, carry out activities of public interest or which, in their activity, benefit from public resources from any source and have in their possession information of public interest.

Decreto-Lei No 19/2014

This decree creates the National Identification Card for Cape Verdean citizens and establishes the framework for its issue, replacement, use and cancellation.

Law No 13 ter/2014 Relating to Refugees

This Law governs refugees and asylum seekers in Rwanda.

National Identity Cards Act 2011

The Act mandates the establishment of a National Identity Register, the issuance of national identity cards to persons whose are included in the national identity register and for related matters.

This Decree amends decree no. 2007- 207 of 2 April 2007 creating the computerized and secure national secure national identity card.

The Law defines the status of refugees in Burkina Faso. 

The Decree introduces an Identity Card for national citizens based on biometric elements. 

The Law determines the registration of the population and issuance of the national identity card to Rwandan citizens.

The Registration of Persons Act

This Act makes provision for the registration of persons and for the issue of identity cards, and for purposes connected therewith.

This Act establishes the legal framework for the issuance, use, and management of national identity cards and birth certificates in Seychelles.
