This Act amends sections 2, 6, 7, 9, 12, 14, 17, 17A, 18 and 19 of the National Registration Act of 1986.

This Act provides provisions on the registration of persons resident in Botswana and provides for matters incidental thereto.

This Act consolidates and amends the law relating to the registration of births and deaths in Botswana.

This Act establishes the framework for the registration of vital events and civil statuses such as births (including stillbirths and abandoned children), marriage, deaths, divorces, etc.
