The law creates the "Ordre des Infirmières et Infirmiers" (The Order of Nurses), which is responsible for organizing and representing individuals and legal entities practicing nursing in Mali.

The law created the Order of Midwives (the Order of Midwives), which is responsible for organizing and representing individuals and legal entities practicing the profession of midwifery in Mali.

This Act repeals and replaces the Nursing Council Act of 1992 to make further and better provisions for the establishment, composition and functioning of a Nursing Council, to establish a disciplinary Tribunal and to better regulate and control the nursing and midwifery professions.
