Health Legislation

This Order provides for the creation, organization and operation of the program called the National Health Education Programme.

The decree creates the National Institute for Medical Assistance ("Institut National d'Assistance Médicale"), which is placed under the supervision of the Ministry of Public Health and the financial supervision of the Ministry of Finance. The Institute's main mission is to implement policies, strategies and reforms relating to the financing and delegated management of free health care for Niger's vulnerable populations by the State and local authorities.

The Order adopts the statutes of the National Institute for Medical Assistance ("Institut National d'Assistance Médicale"), which has as its main mission the implementation of policies, strategies and reforms relating to the financing and delegated management of free healthcare by the State and local authorities for the benefit of vulnerable populations in Niger.

The law determines the essential rules relating to public health and hygiene in the Republic of Niger. The law contains articles referring to the fundamental principles of health in Niger, such as the functioning of the national health system, or health information; as well as the fundamental principles of hygiene, such as urban health and food safety.

The Decree sets out the statutes of the Nigerian Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency.

This Order establishes the organization and operation of the regional health system.

The Decree adopts the National Strategy for University Health Coverage in Niger 2021-2030.

The Decree adopts the national pharmaceutical policy. This policy sets out and prioritizes the medium- and long-term goals set by the State for the pharmaceutical sector, and defines the main strategies for achieving them. It provides a framework within which pharmaceutical sector activities are coordinated. It covers both the public and private sectors, and involves all the main players in the pharmaceutical sector. It is an integral part of national health policy.

This decree establishes the National Institute for Medical Assistance (Institut National d'Assistance Médicale) whose mission is to implement the policies, strategies an reforms for finanicng and managing free healthcare services for vulnerable populations. It is under the ministry of health (technical supervision) and the Ministry of Finances (financial suppervision). The decree further addresses the mandate, structure and ressources of the Institute.

This Decree provides for the definition of attributions of the Minister of Health and the organization of the Central Administration of his Department. The Decree also contains provisions regarding the organization of other departments of the Ministry of Health. This Decree establishes the special status of civil servants of the of the health corps classified in the following areas of specialization: medical-sanitary; medical sanitary engineering and public hygiene; biology. The purpose of the Regulation is to define the procedures for approving pharmaceutical products for human use in the member states of the West African Economic and Monetary Union.

The purpose of the law is to determine the legal regime of civil status in Niger. It institutes a civil status system, which is the set of qualities inherent to a person that the law takes into consideration in order to attach legal effects to that person. The law governs declarations of civil status facts.

The decree revises Niger's national list of essential medicines.

This Decree provides for the conditions relating to the standards, skills, and ethics in matters of prescription and provision of services in reproductive health, as well as to the sale and administration of contraceptive products and authorized methods of contraception.
