The law regulates the manufacture and registration of medicines, the approval of medical devices, and sets out rules for pharmacies and the practice of the profession of pharmacist.

The Law creates a professional order called the "Ordre national des sages- femmes/maïeuticiens de Guinée", which groups together all midwives/maïeuticians required to practice in Guinea.

The law creates a public administrative establishment, called the "Agence Nationale de Sécurité Sanitaire", under the supervision of the Ministry of Health. The mission of the Agence is to implement the strategic orientations of the Ministry of Health in the field of health safety.

The Decree governs, among other aspects, the functions, competencies, working conditions, and remuneration of professionals in charge of promotion, prevention, and care activities in the public sector.

The Decree establishes the Code of Medical Ethics. The Code is applicable to any Doctors registered with the Medical Register, any performing a professional act, as well as to students performing a replacement or assisting a physician in the case provided for in article 84 of Code.
