The Lesotho health sector has undertaken a significant review and update of its comprehensive health service package, aligning it with the Primary Health Care (PHC) approach to advance toward achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) goals. This updated package prioritizes equitable access to essential health services, integrating preventive, promotive, curative, and rehabilitative care to address the health needs of the population comprehensively. Emphasis has been placed on strengthening service delivery at the community and district levels, ensuring that the most vulnerable populations are reached. Additionally, the package incorporates interventions targeting maternal and child health, communicable and non-communicable diseases, and emergency care, while promoting multisectoral collaboration to address the social determinants of health. This effort is expected to enhance the quality, accessibility, and efficiency of health services, contributing to improved health outcomes across the country.
