Zika virus: aircraft disinsection for mosquito control posted at WHO web

On 1 February 2016, WHO Director-General declared that the recent cluster of microcephaly cases and other neurological disorders reported in Brazil, following a similar cluster in French Polynesia in 2014, constitutes a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC). As a precautionary measure, the Committee advised that standard WHO recommendations regarding disinsection of aircraft and airports should be implemented in order to control the vector (Aedes spp. mosquito) that spreads the Zika virus.   Please visit  http://www.who.int/ihr/ports_airports/en/  "Zika virus: Aircraft disinsection for mosquito control".
